It’s that time of year again when certain pockets of the country are suddenly gripped by devastating flash floods. One year ago exactly this weekend, residents of Cockermouth in Cumbria fell victim to the elements. Today, it’s the opposite end of the country that’s been hit, with residents of Lostwithiel and St Austell in Cornwall especially, finding themselves chest-deep in water.

Time for reflection

While it’s difficult to imagine the devastation that flooding can cause until you fall victim to it yourself, the news should at least prompt homeowners into action.

Julie Owens, head of home insurance at moneysupermarket.com, said:  “With flood warnings still in place for much of the West of England, I would urge anyone who has been, or stands to be affected by this severe weather, to act now.

“People in ‘at risk’ households should check the details of their buildings and contents cover, especially the limits and excesses on both. It

Apart from debt and financial deficits, the decline of American industrialization was led by faulty political and economic decisions by the governments over a long period of time. However, the recent financial depression in the form of accumulated debts and government defaults, along with recessions and other fiscal fallouts have coagulated the conditions against the growth and development of industries.

Can the California Insurance Commissioner or one of his staff authorize an insurance company to break the law, so that the company is immune from a civil suit for illegal surcharges?

What are Collision and Comprehensive Auto Insurance Options?

Archived in the category: Car Insurance Quotes
Posted by Matthew Lock on 11 Nov 10 - 0 Comments

Automobile insurance companies offer two primary forms of physical damage protection for your vehicle: collision and comprehensive coverage.

Collision Coverage
Collision coverage protects your vehicle from damage caused by contact with another vehicle or an object, such as a tree, light pole, or building. Many insurance companies offer three collision options. They are limited, basic, and broad collision. These three options will determine how much money will be paid by the insurance company to repair your vehicle as a result of an accident.

If you have limited collision, and you are found to be more than 50 percent at fault, your insurance company may not pay for any damages to your vehicle as a result of a collision.

Auto liability coverage offers compensation for the damage cost if you are at fault in the accident. It does not offer coverage for your injury and car damage costs. Most states require the citizens to get liability insurance. It has three important components including bodily injury per person coverage, bodily injury per accident coverage and property damage per crash coverage. The requirements of the three coverage components are often mentioned together, for example, $30,000/$50,000/$30,000 or 30/50/30. The first two numbers refer to the bodily injury coverage while the third number refers to the property damage coverage.

Bodily injury coverage pays for the injury costs of the third parties in the accident. Full article…
